We are Poly. We are Proud. Let's celebrate across Canada and around the world.
Pass the hat for the Canadian Polyamory Advocacy Association and help us continue to be there for Poly People and their families in Canada.
This is a do-it-yourself event to raise awareness about our culture, our relationship preference, and the idea that freedom of relationship choice is important to society at large. It is a community bonding experience, our way — because everyone will do it a little differently. Let’s have barbecues, keggers, potlucks, raves, picnics, blues dances, play parties, tantric retreats, game nights, field days, movement fundraisers, cuddle parties, fancy dinners… all the same weekend. It’s suggested that parties be on the June 17-19 weekend and voluntary fundraisers for the Canadian Polyamory Advocacy Association (CPAA) — but those aren’t required. Any date up until August 31, 2016, is okay too. Events must comply with local laws (ie drinking age laws and raffle licensing). AND the parties that raise funds for the CPAA can submit funds here and scoop up some of the gifts available. Poly friendly individuals, households, and groups, who would like to submit funds but don't want to party, are absolutely welcome to do that as well.
Why support the CPAA?
We're polyamorists — just like you — and are the volunteers which successfully made polyamory legal in 2011 when the BC Supreme Court ruled that Canada's Criminal Code does not apply to unformalized polyamorous relationships. We continue that advacaty work today, with programs in support of individuals (we provide legal and other services referral to polyamorous people and families) and in support of polyamory groups (we povide and maintain a list of Canadian regional and local polyamory groups at: http://polyadvocacy.ca/find-poly-community, as well as provide support for the administrators of those groups or those wishing to start new ones). We prepresent you in the media and refer media to prepared respondents and experts. And we advocate for the institutional acceptance and support of polyamory in Canada (ranging from lobying provincial and the federal governments, to hosting national PolyCon conferences to bring people togehter and promot polyamory).
But we can't do all that — or do it as well as needed — if we are not supported by you. So please be genourous in your support to the CPAA! You can support us by contributing to this CrowdGift page, or by contributing directly to our PayPal account at .http://polyadvocacy.ca/how-can-you-help/donate/.
